The religion is 2,500 years old and is followed by 350 million Buddhists worldwide.Buddhism is in Asia and it is by India.Buddhism is the 4th largest religion in the world.A prince was born in India about 2500 years ago.

The maker of Buddhism was a man called Siddhartha Gautama . The Buddhist’s special building is called a Supta (like all religions they pray in the Supta ) Suprisingly, Buddhist’s don’t believe in god they think it is made up, like a cartoon . The symbols of Buddhism , that look very pretty , are : the wheel of life, the lotus flower and some of Siddhartha’s photos aswell.

The Buddhas,who are people who meditate teach people the three signs of beings,the four noble truths and the noble eightfold path.
The three qualities are meditation,wisdom and mortality. The wheel of life is a symbol of life, death and rebirth. Did you know that their were about 32 symbols in buddisham.Buddists don’t believe in the creator God. The bump on top of his head was a symbol that the Buddha had special talents.

Do not take anything not freely given. (Do not steal).
Do not lie.
Do not drink alcohol or other drugs.
Buddhas are very strictly vegetarian.
Their leader was the Buddha ,who was also known as Siddhartha Gautama,said that people shouldn’t live in to much luxury and shouldn’t live in to much poverty either. They should me in the middle.

Buddhism is quite similar to other religions due to their belief in what you can and can’t do. These are called the five precepts, here are what they are:
1. Don’t take lives of any living things.
2. Don’t take things that haven’t been given to you willingly.
3. Treat your spouse kindly.
4. Don’t lie.
5. Don’t have alcohol or drugs.

Buddhism began 2,500 years ago in India based on the teaching of Siddhartha Gautama ( Buddha).The religion,which is very old,has 350 Million followers (can you believe that). Buddhism is a main religion in country’s like Japan, China and India.Buddha believed that in the wheel of life, this is when you die it is said that you are reborn many times until you have found enlightment.

Buddhism people believe that they should not kill and not drink .They are also told not to steal things from other people.Also they are told not to eat and kill animals such as chickens and pigs because they don’t like to kill them and they are vegetarians.

In hall green secondary school we learn 5 different religions at the same time and Buddhism is one of them there is a lot of facts about Buddhism that I learnt recently!!
